Tupac Amaru Shakur (16.06.1971 – 13.09.1996) born in New York City, America, is also well known as 2Pac and Makaveli was a legendary rapper, poet and actor. Also, he is considered as one of the biggest hip hop artists of all time by his fans.



Early life & background :

Shakur was born in a very activists/rebellious environment. Both his mother and father were members of the Black Panther Party during 1960s and 1970s. He had a cardiopulmonary years younger half sister named Sekyiwa and an elder step brother named Mopreme.

Most of his circle including his friends, family and relatives have been convicted and sentenced of some very serious crimes like robbery and murders.

His life started getting better when his family moved to Baltimore, Maryland.

He then joined Baltimore School for the Arts where he got into poetry, jazz, ballet and acting. He has also performed one of Shakespeare’s plays, The Nutcracker on stage.

He also beatboxed and won many rap battles which eventually made him the most popular guy and the best rapper in his school. He wasn’t only a rap god, but he also had a great sense of humour and the ability to connect with his audience.

He then moved to California with his family where he took poetry classes. And, that’s where he began his career as a hip hop background dancer.



Career :

Shakur took the first step into his success in the 1990s with Digital Underground. His track ‘I Get Around’ got ranked #11 on the U.S. Billboard top 100.

Despite of all the controversies 2Pac had faced, his albums as 2Pacalypse, Me Against the World, All Eyez on Me, The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z… became huge success and are considered some of his best albums till date.

Personal Life :

Tupac married on April of 1995 to Keisha Morris Shakur. Him and his wife legally ended their marriage in March of 1996. They didn’t have any kids.

As stated by his friend cum bodyguard, Shakur loved the colour Green. The strange coincidence is: he wore a green tank top when he got shot at.

He lived with his fiancée Kidada Jones and her mother Peggy Lipton, for months until he died.



Cause of Death :

While returning from a Mike Tyson’s boxing match at the MGM Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 7, 1996 with Suge Knight, they stopped at a red light. Meanwhile, a white late model Cadillac with unidentified occupants stopped right next to Shakur’s BMW sedan. One of the unknown occupants pulled out a gun and started firing at Tupac rapidly.

Shakur got hit 4 times from the gunshots, twice in his chest, once in his arm & once in his thigh. And one of the most fatal bullets went into his right lung.

Inspite of having injuries and a flat tire of the car, Knight managed to drive a mile away from the scene. They both were then soon rushed to the University Medical Centre of Southern Nevada after the police and paramedics arrived.

After 6 days on 13 September, 1996 is when Tupac Shakur did die due to internal bleeding. He died because of respiratory failure which led him to cardiopulmonary or cardiac arrest due to removal of his lung. He was aged 25 at his death.
